Some more Hadiths on Ramadan

A Sincere Fast

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever does not give up false statements, evil deeds and speaking (harshly) to others, God is not in need of his giving up food and drink." (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 8, Hadith 83)

You Who Desire What is Good

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "When the first night of Ramadan comes ... a crier calls, 'You who desire what is good, come forward, and you who desire evil, refrain.'" (Al-Tirmidhi)

A month of generosity

Ibn 'Abbas said: "The Prophet (Muhammad) was the most generous of people, but he would be his most generous during Ramadan." (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Hadith 5)

The gates of Heaven are opened during Ramadan

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Ramadan, a blessed month, has come to you during which God has made it obligatory for you to fast. In it, the gates of Heaven are opened [and] the gates of hell are locked. ... He who is deprived of its good has indeed suffered deprivation." (Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 611)

The Prophet also said: "Whoever fasts the month of Ramadan with faith, and seeks God's pleasure and reward, will have his previous sins forgiven." (Fiqh-us-Sunnah, Volume 3, Number 109)

Incomparable Reward

Umm Saleem (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(The performance of) `Umrah during Ramadan is equal (in reward) to performing Hajj with me." (Authenticated by Al-Albani)

Abu Hurayrah reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every action a son of Adam does shall be multiplied—a good action by ten times its value, up to 700 times. Allah says: With the exception of fasting, which belongs to Me, and I reward it accordingly. For, one abandons his desire and food for My sake. "

There are two occasions of joy for a fasting person: one when he breaks his fast, and the other when he meets his Lord, and the (bad) breath (of a fasting person) is better in the sight of Allah than the fragrance of musk. (Al-Bukhari)

The last 10 days of Ramadan

A wife of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "(The Prophet) would strive (to do acts of worship) during the last 10 days of Ramadan more than he would at any other time." (Fiqh-us-Sunnah, Volume 3, Number 133B)

The Prophet also said: "Search for Laylat al-Qadr in the last 10 days of Ramadan." (Al-Muwatta, 19:11)
